A former homeless woman running for Santa Monica City Council made a dramatic entrance at a recent debate — abruptly charging onto the stage and leaving her political rivals stunned.

Lindsay Davis, who goes by “Daisy,” was captured on video standing among the audience with a microphone before suddenly making her way up to the stage.

“An unconditional … to look out for each other,” she appears to say to an audience member before leaping onto the stage. Once there, Daisy launched into an unusual pitch to the crowd.
The unexpected appearance appeared to catch the other candidates off guard, with several staring at her as she took over the debate.

“And I gotta be the DJ, I gotta be the dancer, I gotta be the politician — something I’ve never done. And I love the political mumbo jumbo, and I swear I will learn to speak it, I will do all of that,” she continued.

The clip has since circulated online, drawing attention to the unconventional candidate and her campaign for a seat on the Santa Monica City Council.
