The fatal collision occurred on Thursday morning, September 10, 2026, around 10:20 a.m. at Canal Street and Bowery. According to the CBS News New York report, the truck was coming off the bridge when it struck the victims. The man who died was identified as Ting Jun Ye, and one of the injured women is his 52-year-old daughter. Both injured women were hospitalized in stable condition. The 66-year-old truck driver stayed at the scene and was taken into custody by police. Local residents have noted that the exit area from the Manhattan Bridge is extremely dangerous following previous traffic incidents
