The major problem in the United States (or to all that is called the First World) is that there are so many people with shitty lives—frustrated individuals who, thanks to social media, have finally realized the truth; previously, they were content to imagine that the rest of the world was faring much worse. Now that they have a more realistic perception of the situation, feelings of envy, resentment, hatred, and violence have surfaced.

The spectacle of the "American Dream" only worked while the rest of the world was being built—or rebuilt—following a war.

The "European welfare state" only works until other people's money runs out and it is no longer possible to keep living on debt.

Because nobody likes who they are. They all see successful people and feel worthless. Everyone wants to be a superhero!
How can their lives compare to that.
