A leopard that was hit by a car on a highway in Davangere attacked a Forest Department official during a rescue operation.

Forest officials had reached the spot and tranquillised the animal. However, before it went into deep sedation, the leopard attacked one of the officials.

The injured leopard has been shifted to a hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in the accident. The animal was successfully rescued and secured by the Forest Departmen
