Showing their bodyparts around is the literal proof of the existence of those human saints. Who in their lives endured great pain for God, helped those in need, and most even became martyrs of the faith. Role models, who are closer to God, than those who still live and commit sins, though trying not to.
In their lives and after death - when mentioned in prayers, which also not equals to worship - miracles happened. Which miracles happened through them, but _not_by_them_.
Worshipping is for God only, but saints can be honored, and as being closer to God, can be asked in prayers for intercession.
