A woman broke into an unhinged grin and burst out laughing as deputies — with guns drawn — surrounded a Camaro she was the front passenger in that had smashed through a fence and crashed into the wall of a California home.

The wild scene unfolded around 7:22 p.m. on Aug. 12 in the 11700 block of Hesperia Road in Hesperia, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The male driver, who was suspected to be driving under the influence, tore through the fence and crashed straight into the house, with the Camaro ending up inside a bedroom and sparking a small fire.
The driver, identified as Victorville resident Christopher Harman, 38, and his 39-year-old female passenger were ordered to exit the vehicle, but both refused. Booking records identified the female passenger as Hesperia resident Brittany Thorson.

Deputies managed to subdue Harman and pull out his passenger, who was then taken to a hospital for her injuries.

Once the pair had been removed, witnesses told the outlet deputies and civilians used fire extinguishers to fight the flames and prevent further damage to the home.

Harman was booked into the High Desert Detention Center on numerous charges.
