Nothing wrong with being patriotic.
Amazon driver identified in viral flag salute video
The homeowner, Ange Burnett, said she orders a large volume of packages from Amazon, like camping gear for a seasonal spot in Rising Sun, Ind., and toys for her two-year-old grandson. But none of those deliveries carry the same weight as the American flag on her front porch.
“My husband’s a veteran. We literally met when he was stationed at Fort Knox,” Burnett said. “The military is very special to us. I have two nephews who both served in the Army. Lots of extended family who have served. We’ve been a very lucky family. All of our family members have come home to us safe, even serving out of the country. So, the military and patriotism is very important to us. We take pride in that.”
She said that for her, the flag represents the freedom her loved ones fought so hard for.
Burnett’s Ring camera recorded the moment on a Monday morning. The footage shows the Amazon driver dropping off a package, then stopping to untangle the flag. After photographing the delivery as proof of drop-off, the driver pauses and salutes the flag before leaving.
The video has been watched and shared by thousands of people across the country.
The Amazon driver has to be ex-military cause all her movements were text book. God job young lady.
A flag holder with a slipring prevents those tangles, but they are a bit pricier.
Thats pretty cool. I thought i was the only one that did stuff like that. I see a flag tangled and i just have to fix it or ill feel bad if i didnt. When i see our flag flying, i always say Thanks dad and i miss u uncle pete. Its a powerful flag like none other.
“thanks for ur service- you’ll be deployed to amazon for the next 6 years before blowing out and dying of an overdose”
The driver has since been identified as Nativida Muhammad. She describes herself as a military brat and said she considers herself fortunate to have been born in the United States.
Muhammad said she simply could not leave the flag tangled if she could fix it, and she hopes the video inspires others to act when they see something out of place.
“I hope that it gives other people the sense that, when they see something, do something, whatever it is,” Muhammad said. “If you see the American flag and it’s out of place or not getting its respect that it should — this is an amazing country. We live in the best country in the entire world. And I just hope that other people will have the same inclination to do the same thing.”
The whole spectacle is entertaining just like in the movies... but then they don't even know how to pull off a serious military parade or win a war.
