On August 10 around 9:20 a.m., the man injured a 61-year-old domestic helper in the neck and back and a security guard in the elbow or hand at the Pok Fu Lam estate. Videos showed him approaching the woman carrying bags, leading to her fall, before the bystander and guards intervened until police arrived and arrested the Hong Kong resident from Block 47. Local reports note his depression or mental health issues; both victims were conscious and hospitalized at Queen Mary Hospital.
