U have to know the breed to own one!!! I'm a girl rescued my female pit from fighting! That dog would defend me in a heartbeat so I knew it was irresponsible to walk her after the sun went down cuz anyone who got close shed get defensive so my bf had to start walking my dog cuz she was not defensive of him just me...

@Kate666 Pit bulls, most dogs really, can be very dangerous. A lot of people don't understand that. In some situations, pit bulls are a better weapon than a gun! Another thing that people don't get, dogs are people, too. They need the same level of care attention and training as a child growing up, imho. A well disciplined dog will be happier, the family will be happier, the neighbors will be happier. Most importantly, the dog will have a more fulfilling life.

@JobyFluorine couldnt agree more! It how they are trained got to a point wit my Pitt that I'd just look at her snap my fingers n she would then behave... I had her a 50lbs pitt n my exes 140lbs shepard they started to fight I grabbed the bigger dog n threw myself back kicking my dog across the floor but the min I kicked her she stopped n let me deal wit the bigger dog (I was only 117lbs lol)

@Lostcoss.82 they are the original nanny breed yano so ya they are good when raised in a loving family! I sold pups n mostly chose families wit kids around the age of 10 cuz then the pup grows up with them and understands its family dynamic...
Not to be rude but I turned down single black thug looking guys cuz we all know why they want a pit not good

I had a pit for 10 years, never bit anyone always had him leashed. Only time he did bite was when other dog owners had their dogs off leash and attacking him! Dog fights are brutal and I jumped into the pile every time cause I loved my baby! I got bit and my friend had to go to the hospital one time trying to separate them got his tricep torn! Shitty dog owners give dogs a bad rap!

Pit bulls were originally bred to bring down cattle in abattoirs, and also to bait and bring down big game (bears, bores, bulls) in a fighting pit. This is the origin of their names, pit bulls. When baiting was outlawed, the dogs' natural talents were used for dog fighting.

Put them in an environment rich in targets and they are going to do what they do best. It gets worse when some bulbheaded Ubangi gets one as a pet and has no idea how to train a hamster, let alone a killing machine.
