Florida man was found guilty of murder after he knocked out a man then threw him into the water

On May 25, 2024, at Little Harbor Marina, Padlowski met Melvin Jimenez at a bar, drank heavily with him, then fought on the dock after Jimenez allegedly threatened Padlowski's fiancée and shoved her. After Jimenez hit his head and went limp, Padlowski dragged him into the water instead of calling 911; the medical examiner ruled drowning caused his death. Padlowski claimed self-defense, but after a three-day trial, the jury convicted him of first-degree murder in under three hours, with sentencing set for August 17 carrying a mandatory life term. Jimenez's wife and daughter, who viewed the video in court for the first time, remembered him as a good person who did not deserve to die that way.
