A white man in Florida was selling a nice camera on Facebook marketplace

 

A black buyer was interested so they met in a public place. The man pretended to be interested, then ran into a self-driving Waymo and escaped with the camera

 

People need to be careful in these situations, let’s look at the data

 

According to data a black person is 8+ times more likely to steal from you when you are meeting up to sell an item compared to a white person

 

They are over 10x more likely to steal from you in this situation compared to an Asian person
