A couple decades ago i went and saw this man with our church group. The next Sunday our pastor praised this man and asked us to pray for him and send him more money. I never went back to that church, or any other, again.

During his "show" all he spoke about was giving more money to god, as they passed around a collection plate, 3 times. The entryway was full of tables selling his wares for absurd prices, shirts, audio tapes and books.

After that i decided i would explore my relationship with God on my own.

@Whitestar1 Never seen a church thats not either retarded or greedy. Check out Arnold Murray on yt, if you enjoy real truth. Do not check it out if you want a normal life.

You are right to never go back to an apostate church.
That doesn't mean they all are.
Seek an Independent Baptist Church.
No need to agree 100% with their doctrine (nodrinking, no dancing, etc) but agree that their dogma is right.

I don't like to be the one to say it, but THIS is one of the most major reasons the world sees the American public as the stupidest (undeservedly so) on this earth. I grew up seeing these smartly dressed men in churches through the years, asking for money "for jesus". I always thought you'd have to be stupud to give those chances money. Those men became very very rich ....
