That's fucked up. The idiot that left his keys in the car absolutely didn't have full coverage, and if he did the insurance would deny his claim for a number of reasons.

Partially not true.

Leaving keys in your car, running or not, if stolen, if you have Comprehensive Insurance, the vehicle is covered up to Fair Market Value.
Full Coverage means you carry both Comprehensive and Collision. (All vehicles are required to carry Liability)

Depending on the state, Comprehensive Insurance may or may-not be purchased separately without Collision.

If the thief steals your car and wrecks it, your Collision covers your car, if you have Collision Insurance.

Your liability does not cover the damage to the other car/property, or bodily injury if you left your keys in the car. BUT, if you carry Uninsured/Underinsured Liability, then that coverage will cover the damages, depending on which state you reside.

Finally, most pizza restaurants require proof of coverage for Liability before you can be a delivery driver for them.

@Cripple I know, but if the dude's driving delivery, I really doubt that he has full coverage. I didn't have full coverage when I was younger, but you could pick up a decent car for $1500.
