Looked like the ceiling fan pulled a chunk out of the ceiling when it fell, maybe the cause.

Sweat, urine, greasy food fumes, and the odors from unwashed clothes and moldy shoes had made the masonry porous, and the wood in the roof structure had begun to rot, so it was clear that the whole thing was going to collapse.
