Bystanders knocked out a suspect after he stabbed an employee at Valley Fair Mall

One person is injured after a stabbing at the Valley Fair Mall.

According to the West Valley City Police Department (WVCPD), they responded to the Valley Fair Mall shortly before 3:00 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.
When they arrived, they found that a male suspect approached a male employee who was working at a kiosk at the Valley Fair Mall. The suspect pulled out a knife and began to stab the employee multiple times.

Several bystanders interfered and were able to separate the suspect from the victim, subduing the suspect until police arrived.

When officers arrived, they were able to take the suspect into police custody. The victim was transported to a hospital where they are undergoing surgery. The police said that there is no threat to the public at this time.
