@ScreaminMime While some of the things you post I don't agree with, his comments were inappropriate. And should be left to say outside the work environment, his right to free speech. The company had every right to fire him, by Law. First Amendment right only protects you from prosecution from the local, state or federal government. Some States do protect employees in the private sector, however Tennessee does not . Our legal system has yet to draw a clear line between speech protected by public policy and speech vulnerable to private control.
