On Saona Island (Dominican Republic), a man violently assaulted a woman on a tourist beach in front of dozens of other tourists.

According to the most common account in witness comments, the assault began because the woman was flirting with another man right in front of her partner (the aggressor).

The man flew into a jealous rage and hit her. Immediately, a group of men (locals and tourists) intervened and severely beat the aggressor in the water and on the sand.

The video has generated widespread outrage: most condemn the violence against the woman (nothing justifies hitting her), although there is debate about the alleged "infidelity" or public "humiliation" of the boyfriend.
