Diners trying to enjoy a nice meal were run over by a truck

Diners at the Oneta Station Diner in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, were plowed by the Chevy Silverado, and one waitress, Gina, was trapped against the salad bar.

Waitress Melissa Newkirk said, "We were just kind of resetting for what was to come for lunch an hour after church service. I heard a huge crash and then saw a truck coming into the diner."

Gine was transported to the hospital in critical condition, and the manager, MacRay McManus, says they are trying to locate the family who had 2 minors directly hit by the truck to make sure they are ok.

Staff members set up a GoFundMe to help Gina and to cover expenses while the diner remains closed.

Reports are it was an "elderly man" who hit the gas instead of the brakes.
Wanna bet the lawyers for whomever owns that property, makes them put up
those STEEL/CONCRETE posts in front of all of the businesses in that little
strip center?

Looks they were getting an old man wearing suspenders out of the truck.

I've never understood why these old guys, too old to be doing anything strenuous, decide to purchase and use a giant truck for their daily driving......?

See them all the time at the store. They need help carrying a twenty pound bag of birdseed, and then have you put it in the back of a 4-door truck with a full size bed.

You can tell by the truck bed liner that looks new after 5 years that truck has never been used to haul anything of size or weight.

One of the most dangerous drivers on the road driving one of the most dangerous vehicles on the road.

@Cripple No different than the 5'6" guys with obvious 2" peckers that drive pick-ups....that use them for nothing more than to "pick-up" 48 roll packs of toilet paoer at Sam's Club.

But, look around and heck, the only "car" Ford makes is the Mustang. Everything else is oversized SUV's and giant pickup trucks.
The auto makers have convinced everyone that you "need" a huge SUV/truck just like they did in the 80's that you "need" a minivan
and in the 60-70's you "need" a station wagon.

@kma8675309 I still miss my parents' Ford Country Squire station wagon with 400 CI V8. That thing was a beast. So much cooler than these new jacked up stupid trucks.

@Cripple my grandpa who is 80 just got one. I suspect it’s because they know they’re at deaths door and are either in denial or trying to recapture some semblance of their glory days

Hope he is leaving it to you once his driving ability becomes unsafe.

Did that with both my wife's grandfather and my MIL when it was time.
With both of us, my wife and I, taking the car keys away, and we promising to take them where and whenever they wanted, they surrendered to the fact they were no longer capable to drive safely.

More families need to have the courage to tell the elderly in their family that they can't get behind the wheel.
