@Kate666 Perhaps, but certainly not the majority. The majority has always been in favor of supporting Ukraine. And there would always have been a majority in Congress supporting aid to Ukraine as well.

There are plenty of reasons for this. First of all, it is simply the right thing to do to help a peaceful country that has come under attack; then there is the fact that US security policy is partly responsible for Ukraine being vulnerable in the first place (Budapest Memorandum); and it is highly advantageous for the US to weaken a strategic rival without having to send its own troops and at a relatively low financial cost, and so on...

And of course, I am in favor of funding the war in which the US itself is involved. But I believe war should be used only as a last resort. And if you do go to war, you should do it properly, with a clear strategy and a solid plan, not by just making shit up as you go along like Trump does.

@MiTleiD what does Ukraine do for the u.s.? Absolutely nothing. All the countries that get free money from the u.s., what do they offer in return? Nothing. Cut off all the free money going out.

Just one example: Do you really think Trump could’ve pulled off what he did with Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran if Putin hadn’t been fucking up his army in Ukraine?

China and Russia are strategic rivals that don’t wish the US anything good and are actively working against the US towards a different world order. Supporting Ukraine is such an incredibly cheap way to kick the Russians' asses that you'd have to be an idiot to miss this opportunity. And Trump is an idiot.

Wherever free democracies emerge or manage to endure, it is good for America. Just imagine if Trump hadn't messed things up with Iran and had actually achieved regime change, what that would have meant for the US, the region and the world. If the Russians succeed in putting pressure on the democracies in Europe, or even subjugating them, this will also have a very negative impact on the US.
