Affleck: "It's very, very difficult to make a movie for less than $25 million"

"You spend about the same amount to advertise the movie as you spend to make it. So you spent $25 million to make it, $25 million to advertise it now you've got $50 million into the movie"

"From the theaters you get back roughly 50%. So if a movie makes $100 million, you get back $50 million. You've got to gross a hundred million just in simple math"

"People now go, 'this movie looks good, but I'll see it when it comes on streaming'"

Clint Eastwood westerns are the only thing worth watching. Everything else can phuck right off.

No. Wrong. A $25M movie needs to make $100M to break even by appeasing the jewish producers. The hollywood fee is baked into the loan

@Lemmiwinks Don’t forget paying Zendaya, Timothée Chalemet, Tom Holland & Pedro Pascal. apparently the only actors to exist nowadays

When movies were still shot on film , the film itself was such a significant expenditure that assholes like Afleck never would have ended up on screen. The film wouldn't/couldn't have been wasted on shit rags like him and his contemporaries. It's only since the advent of video , and the fact that it doesn't cost anything , that fuckwads like Seth Rogan can take a nauseating 143 attempts at something he was hoping might eventually come out funny.

yet decades ago since the last good movie appeared. quality is not a quetion of money - it's about good acting. sure, if the movie is lame you need all the shit, stunts, special effects etc. so please shut the fuck up, you''re all by far overpaid. i have nothing against ben but that's reality my friend.

@tommix1 Haven't seen it, but The Blair Witch Project is a good one.

Or, be like Mel Gibson and bankroll the entire thing and bypass 50% or more in fees, interest, and other expenses associated with the usual movie making costs.

0 +1 JobyFluorine 3 weeks ago

@Cripple Yeah! It's not like Ben can't afford to produce his own movie.

Not nearly as many people give a damn now.
