Ted Danson wants to "apologize forever" for doing black-face during the roast of his former girlfriend, with whom he was having an affair, Whoopi Goldberg.

Ted Danson, who gained popularity from the show ‘Cheers’, was having an affair with Whoopi Goldberg in 1993, when he was asked to do a roast of her at the Friars Club in New York.

Danson talks about how he wasn't a stand-up comedian and decided to do “performative theater” for Whoopi, whom he called one of the most “outrageous, funny Black women in the world at that point."

Earlier in the interview, Danson says, "I have no problem talking about this, but I need to and want to apologize for the rest of my life because somebody today can go on the internet, you're right, and go, ‘What the f*ck? Wow, I feel betrayed. I feel angry.' and whatever. And I did that."
