Killer of a sheriff captured after being spotted on a wildlife game camera in a different state

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy in Virginia conducted a routine wellness check on Michael Puckett on Friday when he ambushed the officers and opened fire.

Deputy Logan Utt was shot and killed, and another officer was shot and injured during the shooting.

Puckett then fled the scene and led the FBI, US Marshals, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on a 2-day manhunt.

Puckett was spotted on a wildlife game camera in Surry County, North Carolina, at around 7 AM.

Authorities were alerted when Puckett started ringing a doorbell in Mount Airy, North Carolina, and swarmed the property.

Puckett was apprehended with a handgun without incident by North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation agents.

Puckett faces life in prison as he is charged with aggravated murder, a Class 1 felony in Virginia.

@Cripple Like most predators in the animal kingdom, humans are ambush predators. Even the fastest predators still use ambush and stalking techniques to get closer to prey before launching an attack.

That doesn't excuse what this guy did, and he still deserves the electric chair.
