SEATTLE — Seattle police are searching for several suspects after a triple shooting erupted overnight in Capitol Hill.

At 1:10 a.m. Monday, officers were called to the scene outside Cultura Seattle Nightclub at 916 East Pike, where three men in their 20s were found shot.

All were taken to Harborview Medical Center, where one is in critical condition, and two others are in serious condition.

Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an argument outside the club among three men and nightclub security. As the three men left, at least one pulled a gun and fired shots toward the club, hitting three victims, according to Seattle police.

Police said they’re looking for three suspects who walked or ran away from the scene before officers arrived.

Detectives are combing through footage from area security cameras, interviewing witnesses, and examining evidence.

People who were outside the nightclub when the shots were fired described the scene as "pandemonium."

"Scary, scary," shooting witness Medi Tafere said. "You don’t know which way the bullets are coming and it happened so fast. Next thing you know three people are on the ground, blood everywhere.”

Witnesses said they heard six to eight gunshots.

"I’m kind of disheartened because we don’t need this stuff around here man. This is a good neighborhood,” a man said .

And now some of those neighbors are worried about the bigger picture. This is one of about 170 shooting incidents since the start of the year. While the number of shooting calls is down by about 31% from the same period last year, neighbors said it is still too much.

We got a big tournament coming, the city’s excited and we want the guests to come here and feel safe and have a good time, this is the last thing we want to happen," Tafere said. "We are bigger than that. We are very awesome community here that likes to have a good time, no violence."

Detectives with the Seattle Police Department Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation.
