MONROE TWP. MI — Two men set a Monroe dispensary on fire hotfooted it away from the scene — in more ways than one.
Surveillance footage shared by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office captured two men around 1 a.m. Sunday, May 10, crashing a vehicle into Pure Cannabis at 15311 S. Dixie Highway in Monroe Township.
The men then pour a liquid from a gasoline canister around the store before one of the men retrieved a product from the back of the store, footage shows. The men then lit the liquid on fire before running out of the store.
As the fire began to spread, the shoes of one of the men started burning. Footage shows the shoes still on fire as the pair run away from the store.
One of the men did take some prepackaged cannabis flower, but made off with only $50 to $100 worth of product, Bahoura said. He suspects the fire was linked to a competitor, although that is his “best guess.”
