She says whenever Apple launches a new phone, they would push an update to older iPhones with malware to slow them down. This pushes people to upgrade

“I used to be a software engineer at Apple, and with every new phone that was released, malware was installed on the older phones to make you have to update, so your phone's not just glitching. It's doing that on purpose. Share before it's deleted”

She’s telling the truth, this was proven in court

The 2017 “Batterygate” scandal, where Apple was caught deliberately slowing down older iPhones through software updates

Apple was caught red handed doing this they even admitted it in court

Apple released iOS updates that intentionally throttled and reduced CPU performance. This caused phones to feel slower, glitchy and laggy

Apple’s stated reason: To prevent unexpected shutdowns caused by aging lithium-ion batteries

Everyone already knows that

I have owned a bunch of Iphones over the years. I have a 17 pro max now. I liked them BECAUSE they kept the software updated. I have never noticed glitches, or my phones slowing down. Maybe I was just not paying attention. Maybe it's because I would get a new phone just to upgrade. Either way I smell some BS here.

STFU, you mannish cow. We ALL knew this years ago! There was a whole thing about Apple slowing down older phones with firmware updates.

Geezuss. She thinks she cracked the code.

Android/Samsung does it with updates.....I own one.

0 +1 JobyFluorine 2 weeks ago

@Fetid01 Samsung? I'll buy them as a gift, but I'd never own one. I've had great success with Android phones that cost around $200. No matter what I buy, it'll only last me about two years, anyways. And I feel stoopid spending $1200 for a telephone.

BBC reported on this in 2020 "iPhone 6 and 7 and SE were slowed down in 2016", and they paid 113 million to settle it. (peanuts to them)
It's old news but noteworthy. It's worse than planned obsolescence. It's like taking your car to the dealer for maintenance and having them change the oil, and wreck the transmission, to prod you into paying for a new car.
I won't even consider apple products because of it, even though their products are good. Like Butt-Light, I'm done with it permanently.
