This is the dramatic moment a Mexican Navy helicopter makes a hard landing after a sudden engine failure. Footage shows the MI-17 aircraft lifting off from the Fourth Naval Region base in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, on Monday. Seconds after takeoff, the helicopter suffered a loss of main engine power, forcing the crew to carry out emergency procedures and make a controlled but forceful landing near the base. Authorities confirmed the aircraft was on a routine mission at the time of the incident. The Secretariat of the Navy said in a statement: 'During the takeoff of an MI-17 type helicopter in the Fourth Naval Region, headquartered in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, a power failure was recorded in the aircraft's main engine, which led to an emergency landing. 'No injuries to people or human losses were recorded as a result of this incident. 'Safety protocols were immediately activated, and evaluations are being conducted by the insurance company for the corresponding procedures.'

I fucken LOVE a good copter crash vid. This one was ok.... Of course it was great for the pilot, passengers, and ground crew all around. I was hoping for at least a leg removal from one of those spinning blades.
