ALERT: Security footage shows a man fighting with a robber before being shot in front of a Brooklyn home, as the NYPD is still searching for the suspect.

A 31-year-old was shot after he appeared to be holding money in his hand, and a thief fought to take it away from him.

The thief fired a warning shot next to the victim, but the victim kept holding onto his possessions before being shot multiple times in the leg and torso, according to police.

The 31-year-old was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center and remains there in critical condition.

Police are still searching for the shooter, and the investigation into the cause is ongoing.
