I went to an EdgeFest concert back in 2002. At some point during the festival they had a cage where two people were suspended by skin hooks like that. The setup was a chain hanging down from the top of the cage and the chain was connected to the middle of a long horizontal bar. At the ends of the bar were the chains that connected to the hooks in the people. Picture something like a huge weight scale but instead of chains connected to platters the chains were connected to people.

The suspended freaks would climb up the side of the cage and jump down, causing the whole contraption to jerk the other person up by the hooks in the back. I was completely shocked by the fact that nothing ripped out.
