Gee, that reminds me of a similar situation that was happening with a certain group of people that began a huge problem around 1939. By the time you get to the register you can't afford it.

Hopefully, some "investigative" reporter will do this...
Go into a walmart, video prices of things like milk, bread, meat... common household items say on
a Monday at 9-10am. THEN, go back and video the prices of the same items on a Saturday afternoon,
or before a major weather event and see if the prices have changed. ;)
