Brazil: A man died on Saturday night (11), in Porto Alegre , after being shot by a military police officer who was off duty . According to the Military Brigade, the shot occurred after the man tried to attack the officer and take his weapon.

Soldier Guilherme Rodrigues Vieira, assigned to the 19th Military Police Battalion (BPM), was exercising on Avenida Salvador França when he was approached. In a statement, the Military Police said the individual was having a psychotic episode and claimed to be carrying a knife.
