An explosive device detonated inside a pickup truck in Tecámac, State of Mexico, on the afternoon of March 28, 2026, killing two people, including an alleged operator for the Sinaloa Cartel known as Francisco Beltrán "N," alias "El Payín".

The two individuals in the front seats were killed instantly. They were identified as Francisco Beltrán "N" ("El Payín") and Humberto Rangel "N," both believed to be originally from Sinaloa.
Cause of Explosion: Preliminary investigations by authorities, including the Guardia Nacional, indicate that a grenade of fragmentation or similar explosive device detonated inside the vehicle, rather than being thrown at it.
The attack occurred around 6:00 PM on March 28, shortly after the individuals left the AIFA terminal, where "El Payín" had reportedly just landed.
Security camera footage showed the truck, a white pickup, zigzagging on the highway after the blast before colliding with a concrete divider.
Investigation: The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) is investigating the incident. Reports suggest "El Payín" was affiliated with the "La Mayiza" faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
