Captain: "it's ok. We have three good engines. We will just be one hour late to the airport.". Aggie:: " Jesus, I hope the other three engines hold up. If they don't we will be up here ALL NIGHT!"

Most likely a bird strike. It's a good thing they can fly with one engine!

Pilot error. Crack pipe over heated out the side window. When interviewed, the pilot seemed....... distracted.

I found this:

As of June 2024, the Airbus A330 has been involved in 46 aviation accidents and incidents, including 14 hull-losses (ten due to flight related accidents and four due to strikes as part of armed conflicts), for a total of 339 fatalities

The A330 was Airbus's first airliner to offer a choice of three engines: the General Electric CF6, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or the Rolls-Royce Trent 700.

@Charles_muller Only two accidents with passenger fatalities since first delivery from 1994 and both accidents due to pilot error. That's a very strong safety record.

@Charles_muller since it's roll-out, the A330 has accumulated 73,000,000 flight hours.

Thought it was a compressor stall, looks more like it’s tearing itself apart.

@Bellybutton Looks to me like the flux capacitor isn't getting the correct 1.21 gigawatts of electrical power.
