4 young men enter restricted zone in Taiwan and witness live missile

A video of four young men on the beach has gone viral, but not because of the beautiful coastal scenery. They were throwing pebbles into the sea in Pingtung’s Xuhai beach , when all of a sudden, a live missile ripped through the sky near them. Clearly, they should not have been there, due to the missile tests. But they still posted the video online for attention. And attention is what they got.
Four young men are having fun throwing pebbles into the sea, when all of a sudden, a loud noise rips through the air.
It was indeed a freshly launched missile. The boys were equally shocked and amused. Missiles are currently live-tested on the early mornings of Wednesday and Thursday, at the National Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology’s Jiupeng training area. A military expert says the missile in the video was most probably the Hsiung Feng II anti-ship missile.
Chi Tung-yun Military expert: A booster was ejected after launch, and a short wing was extended. These are all characteristics of the Hsiung Feng II anti-ship missile.
The public is always notified ahead of live-fire exercises. It was the same this time, and the vicinity was designated as a restricted area. The group of four had clearly trespassed.

The restricted area stretches all the way to Xuhai Bridge. The video was shot at Xuhai Beach, definitely restricted. They did not evacuate.

I’d like to remind everyone not to enter restricted zones. That puts your safety at risk.
Even though the missile is launched quite high above the ground, an ejected booster previously caused a fire in the mountains. That’s why restricted zones in a military exercise are strictly off limits.
