DPS Brush Team Chases Down Illegal Immigrants Who Crossed the Rio Grande and Fled from Abandoned House
02/24/26: The TxDPS Brush Team in Starr County assisted the U.S. Border Patrol in Roma, Texas, after a group of illegal immigrants crossed the Rio Grande and were hiding inside an abandoned house.
As Troopers approached the residence, multiple illegal immigrants fled on foot. Our Brush Team members gave chase and successfully apprehended several individuals.
The group of seven, from Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, and Honduras. Some were wearing colored wristbands, commonly used by cartels to indicate payment for smuggling facilitation.
All seven were referred to U.S. Border Patrol.
