Truck soars through air, crashes into Oregon home

A doorbell camera captured a truck soaring through the air and into an Oregon home.
The truck flew through the front door of the house, located in Tigard, early on Friday morning. The house has since been deemed unlivable, and the driver of the truck is now behind bars.
Police say a man was recklessly driving through a nearby intersection, hit a dirt mound, and launched through the air for more than 100 feet, clearing a brick wall before landing inside the house while the family was sound asleep.
“I got woken up, just the slamming and the house rumbled and like, it was, it was crazy,” said homeowner David Brudnok. “And then my wife was, was knitting in the room just right there and I heard her start screaming my name.”
The truck left a massive hole in Brudnok’s home, destroying what was once the bathroom, he said.
Brudnok got himself, his wife, and his young children out of the house to safety. The ordeal left the entire family uninjured but shaken.
Authorities later determined the driver had been speeding prior to the crash, which occurred just before 3 a.m. on Scholls Ferry Road, according to the Tigard Police Department. The driver, Jacob Hankins, 33, is accused of reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
