Elizabeth Keeton was injured when the carport at her rented Tennessee home collapsed on her during last week’s major winter storm.

She was walking to her car when she heard cracking, initially thinking it was ice under her feet before the structure fell and pinned her.

Keeton suffered a concussion and contusions on her neck and pelvis.

She claims her landlord, Patricia Thompson, offered help but has taken no further action.

The landlord stated that insurance covers only the structure itself, not tenants’ cars.

Keeton has no vehicle insurance but does have health insurance.

Keeton has filed a lawsuit; in response, she and her husband received a 30-day eviction notice.
