A mother is outraged after her 5-year-old daughter was struck by a shoe that was thrown at her by a staff member at an Inglewood daycare.
The young girl, who has special needs, was being cared for at Destiny Development Center. The incident, which occurred on Jan. 16, was captured by surveillance cameras at the facility.
Video showed a woman taking off her shoe and hurling it at the child, who can be heard crying loudly after being hit by the object.
In the background, two female workers witness the incident, one of whom appears to be laughing.
Following an investigation, director fired the caregiver who threw the shoe, identified only as “Ms. Emily.”
The other two women in the room were initially suspended for failing to report the incident, but after reviewing the footage, she said they were fired as well.
