All men need physical release, and since sex in any form with another man was a mortal sin for a priest, there was priest and female parishoners sex.

The use of children by the priest always existed, but in the 1920s, when homosexuality started to become accepted, the abuse went to a couple levels higher.

In the 40s through the 60s , there was a big rise in homos going into the priesthood.

By the 1980, it was common knowledge that the church was filled with homo priests.

With all the 5th through 8th grade boys wanting to be 'Altar Boys", the field was ripe for the picking.
