Bananas produce the gas naturally and this is what ripens them when placed in a paper bag. They can't ship ripe bananas or they would rot on the way.

fyi; Gassing bananas with ethylene is considered safe and standard industry practice to initiate uniform ripening.
Beyond a certain degree of maturation the banana forms ethylene itself, but only by additional gassing with ethylene is the maturation process brought under control.

If you simply take 30 seconds of your time to research, it would help not sound like a moron.
