A female skier was mauled by a snow leopard after getting too close to try to take a photo, with a chilling video capturing her being led away with blood pouring from her face.

The footage shows the victim lying prone in the snow wearing a purple ski suit after the animal mauled her on Friday evening in Fuyun County at the northern Chinese border with Mongolia.

The tourist had spotted the rare big cat in the snow and had gotten to within 10 feet of it to take a picture, according to reports in China.

A ski instructor eventually chased the snow leopard away by waving his poles.

The victim was saved from more serious injuries by her ski helmet, but still had to be rushed to a local hospital, where she was said to be in a stable condition.

It comes as Chinese authorities have issued a warning to visitors of multiple recent snow leopard sightings in the area.

You know how they have those signs in the Yellowstone area, or wherever they have bison/buffalo that say "Don not pet the fluffy cows"?
Perhaps in China they need signs that say "Do not pet the spotted kitty cats"

One of the best early scenes in the first season of Yellowstone was literally about the stereotype of obnoxious Chinese tourists (approaching a brown grizzly as though it's domesticated) before proceeding to mouth off to John Dutton about how it didn't look dangerous and that it was wrong to claim ownership of his property, which they were trespassing on, while they stared at him like slackjawed raterds.

It's not just some made-up thing or a joke for a television show. Stereotypes exist for a reason, because it's genuinely hard to quantify whether these room temp IQ morons are more disrespectful than they are stupid, or more stupid than they are disrespectful.
