On March 2, 2021, Broward County Sheriffs responded to a distressed customer at the Spirit Terminal located at Fort Lauderdale Airport. The caller reported that a customer was spitting on people and causing extreme chaos. The customer's reason for such behavior was that she had become intoxicated and missed her flight. Upon waking up, she demanded that her place be restored, but when management informed her that they couldn't assist, she experienced a complete breakdown.
