New videos show the heated moments leading up to a deadly road rage shooting on a highway in the Longs area.
Horry County police identified Elijaih Taylor, 23, of Nakina, North Carolina, as the suspect in the Tuesday morning shooting at 9072 Highway 90 near Star Bluff Road.
Jail records show Taylor was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The videos show just how heated the argument between Taylor and Greenwood became.
Taylor is seen cursing at Greenwood, saying he doesn’t care about Greenwood’s insurance and blaming him for causing the collision.
A witness involved in the crash said she was driving westbound on Highway 90 when Greenwood, driving a white truck, collided with her vehicle. She said Taylor’s car was also damaged in the collision.
The argument continued as the videos show both men cursing and threatening each other.
Taylor is then seen telling Greenwood that Greenwood has one more chance to get in his face before Greenwood walks toward him and says, “Put your [explicit] hands on me and see what happens.”
The video shows Taylor reaching into his pocket as Greenwood starts to back up, then Greenwood runs away from Taylor as four gunshots are fired. Greenwood was pronounced dead at the scene.
When authorities detained Taylor, he immediately said, “He was not going to say anything,” a police report reads.
The response to the shooting shut down a portion of Highway 90 for hours.
According to public records, Taylor has not previously been charged in Horry County.
