And you don't need expertise to understand that someone like Trump doesn't give a damn about others and possesses neither morals nor empathy. Afghans, Kurds, and Ukrainians who have engaged with and relied on the US could tell you a thing or two about how Trump acts.

Specifically, this means that while Maduro has been removed, the Chavismo movement and the power elite still exist. All Venezuelans who yesterday prematurely celebrated that the US would "run" Venezuela until a kind of transformation was completed, as Trump clearly stated at the press conference, will experience a rude awakening today, because there is no longer any talk of that and the old power elite remains in power.
