METAIRIE, La. — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating after a deputy shot a suspect during a drug arrest in Metairie on Tuesday. According to Sheriff Joe Lopinto, deputies were making a drug arrest in the 2500 block of Pasadena Avenue. Lopinto said they were attempting to arrest two adults when a third person approached them and pointed a gun at deputies. One detective fired his service weapon multiple times, and the suspect was struck several times, according to Lopinto. A woman woke up to find a baby and her neighbor on her front porch. The child belonged to neither of them. The toddler showed up at the Vaughns’ house in just a diaper and rang the doorbell. One person was rushed to the hospital after reportedly falling from a bucket truck that caught fire on Tuesday, March 3. Emergency officials said the person who fell from the truck was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The incident happened on Evangeline Street near North Foster Drive.
