A Louisiana woman said a Kia dealership used parts from her vehicle to service another customer’s car without her knowledge or permission, and she caught it all on camera. Shirley Poullard brought her SUV to Kia of Lake Charles on June 17 after a tire blowout. She said her vehicle sat at the dealership for more than a month with little communication from the service department. When she went in person to check on her vehicle, she found out much more than she bargained for. When Poullard arrived at the dealership, she noticed the hood of her vehicle was up. She began filming. She repeatedly asked why her engine had been taken apart. On camera, the Kia service manager admitted they had been using parts from her vehicle to service another customer’s car without her knowledge or permission. Poullard said the service manager told her multiple times that no one had touched her vehicle before finally admitting what had happened. “Taking something without permission is stealing. Which is what y’all were doing is stealing,” Poullard said. “Because had I not come up there, I wouldn’t have known. Y’all would have just threw my car back together and expected me to drive it. And later down the line when something went wrong, I would’ve been the person they tried to say was at fault.” Poullard posted the video to social media, where it quickly spread across the Lake Charles community. The footage shows the confrontation with the service manager inside the dealership’s service bay. In a statement, the dealership said: “We took your feedback seriously and immediately began an internal review. Following that review, the Service Manager is no longer employed with our company. Our team is held to a high standard of customer care, professionalism, respect, and honesty. Every customer deserves to be treated with dignity, and we sincerely apologize to the customer involved.” Poullard has her vehicle back but said she still feels uneasy driving it. Pastor Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle Church says he was working on a church bus when the neighbor's son started shouting at him. Spell said that it is his job as the natural protector to protect his church and family. "He said, 'Tony, I'm gonna r*pe your wife, I'm gonna r*pe all of your grandchildren,' and he said, 'The next time you go out of town, I'm gonna kill them, and what the F are you going to do about it?" Spell said. The neighbors, the Sherwin family, claim Spell is not telling the truth, but during a press conference, Spell was backed by members of his church who say they've made multiple complaints about the Sherwin family to police. Spell's attorney says the Sherwin family has "a large, industrial-scale camera that could see from across the street all the way into the pulpit." Spell was hit with multiple misdemeanor summonses in 2020 during the COVID lockdowns when he refused to close his church. "The Central City police are friends with these folks across the street. When Pastor Spell was being surveilled 24/7, it was with the help of the man across the street," Spell's lawyer said. METAIRIE, La. — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating after a deputy shot a suspect during a drug arrest in Metairie on Tuesday. According to Sheriff Joe Lopinto, deputies were making a drug arrest in the 2500 block of Pasadena Avenue. Lopinto said they were attempting to arrest two adults when a third person approached them and pointed a gun at deputies. One detective fired his service weapon multiple times, and the suspect was struck several times, according to Lopinto. A woman woke up to find a baby and her neighbor on her front porch. The child belonged to neither of them. The toddler showed up at the Vaughns’ house in just a diaper and rang the doorbell. Vaughn took the child to his neighbor’s house hoping for help, since she has kids.For a second, Vaughn wondered if one of his exes had dropped the baby off thinking it was his. One person was rushed to the hospital after reportedly falling from a bucket truck that caught fire on Tuesday, March 3. Emergency officials said the person who fell from the truck was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The incident happened on Evangeline Street near North Foster Drive. According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, a mechanical failure caused the fire in the bucket.
