This guy came to the US illegally in 2011. After seeking relief from the courts, he was granted withholding status in2019 and as such, could not be deported. Charges of gang affiliation have been levied against Garcia throughout this process and continue to be by this administration. The administration has produced not one shred of evidence to support this position (this isn't a surprise, they lie, a lot). The lack of evidence is what allowed the court to dismiss the gang affiliation find in his favor in 2019.
The administration has stated that they were/are in ERROR regarding the deportation of this man. Now they are simply trying to wash their hands of their fuck up by saying they're powerless to right this wrong and get this individual back. We know Trump and Bukele have phones in their offices and that they've even used them to communicate on occasion.
