In Ponorogo, East Java, Indonesia a hot air balloon exploded in Muneng Tengah Hamlet, injuring four teenagers on Monday (13/5/2024). The incident happened while attempting to fly the balloon, which had firecrackers attached to it. Balong Police Chief AKP Agus Wibowo confirmed the explosion, stating that it injured four teenagers.
One victim suffered burns covering 63% of their body and was hospitalized, while the others received treatment at home. The police have urged the public to refrain from flying hot air balloons due to safety concerns. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
