Old video of Romain Grosjean's crash in 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix. Race car split in half and burst into a massive fireball. Grosjean was trapped in the fiery crash for ~30 seconds before climbing out. Titanium halo saved his life.

Those fire suits are pretty amazing. I worked in a refinery in Texas City, Texas and a guy there got burned alive one night and died two weeks later. After that the gov't required that everyone working in that industry had to wear fire retardant clothing. It was supposed to give us a second or two to get out of fire. You can get pretty far in a second or two when you are running for your life. I was involved in three fires over the years in the oilfield and came out with just some singed hair and that was before the fire retardant clothing.

@Comfortably_numb Same here. Fire marshals were unable to extinguish the fire, and I thought he might be unconscious or trapped. Then suddenly he emerges from the fire.

2 things:
He crashed for no reason turning right suddently.
And look at his helmet at the very end, last image. It's a demon on his face.

@elgringodecuba He did NOT turn suddenly. While Romain was moving across the track and fighting for position, Kvyat’s AlphaTauri clipped his car from rear and sent Romain sharply to the right into the guardrail. At 0:03, you can clearly see the car snap to the right. Kvyat’s front-left wheel hit the right-rear of Romain’s car. And look at his steering wheel position after being clipped. He is clearly applying counter-steer in an attempt to prevent the spin.
