A woman faked her own kidnapping to try to extort from family members and was arrested in Fortaleza by the Civil Police, on Monday 14th March 2022, along with two false kidnappers. The trio sent at least one video and audio to the alleged victim's family, in which she appears to be assaulted and threatened. None have criminal records. They were charged with the crime of extortion by the Antisequestration Police Station (DAS) and have been made available to the Ceará Justice for sentencing.
