British trip-hop band Massive Attack has been barred from performing in Singapore after an investigation found two members unfurled a Palestinian flag during a concert, police said. Singapore, known for its tough laws on public speech and assembly, bans the open display of all foreign flags, national emblems or banners without a permit. Two band members who held the flag on stage during a concert on Wednesday were also banned from re-entering Singapore and issued with warnings, police said in a statement late on Friday, without naming the pair. The concert promoter had not responded to an AFP request for comment at time of publication. The band had not issued a public comment. A video circulating online showed two Massive Attack members on stage unfurling a Palestinian flag to loud, prolonged cheers from the audience. After concluding their investigation and in consultation with state prosecutors, police said they “administered stern warnings to both men” and barred them from coming back to the city-state.

Thai cabbie, Mapraw, 41, was driving the Palestinian passenger named Alex on the holiday island of Phuket when he repeatedly propositioned her on July 1. Dashcam footage shows the pair making small talk in the car before the tourist told Mapraw: 'You look beautiful'. He then started flirting, saying he 'liked her' and asking whether she was married. As the conversation continued, he asked if she wanted to do ‘something special' with him and invited her into a romantic relationship. After Mapraw turned him down, he offered her 3,000 baht. When she asked what he meant, he replied: 'Kiss and f***'. He then increased the offer to 4,000 baht, then 5,000 baht, suggesting they pull over to have sex, but Mapraw refused both offers. He eventually raised the amount to 250 USD, but she continued to decline. Mapraw, who publicised the video of herself, said she laughed off the passenger's advances to keep the situation calm while they were alone inside the taxi. After arriving at his destination, the passenger paid the fare and apologised for his behaviour. Mapraw explained that she initially thought the tourist was joking, adding she had no intention of accepting his proposition. She said: ‘Nowadays, there are many types of tourists. ‘Some are respectful, while others think having money allows them to offer anything to get what they want. ‘What happened this time shows that not everyone thinks the same way, and for me, money is not a reason to accept that kind of offer.' The island of Phuket's combination of idyllic beaches and colourful nightlife has seen it become one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. Israeli soldier hurls stun grenade into Palestinians’ car

A Border Police officer was filmed Sunday throwing a stun grenade into a Palestinian car in East Jerusalem, forcing the door closed while the explosive goes off in the vehicle with its occupants inside. The incident, which took place at the Qalandiya refugee camp, was being “viewed seriously” by police, which said that the officer would be suspended and a disciplinary decision would follow after a formal investigation. In the video, which was captured by nearby security cameras, the officer can be seen in the doorway of the car, in an apparent argument with the driver. The officer then reaches towards his belt and grabs a stun grenade, before pulling its pin and tossing it into the vehicle while forcing the door closed and preventing the driver from exiting. Another officer is seen on the other side of the car, apparently also preventing the passenger door from being opened. The flashbang then explodes in the front seat of the car with the driver and passengers still inside, as smoke can be seen pouring out of the crack in the door.
