The Wilmington Police Department is investigating two separate stabbing incidents that happened early Sunday morning downtown. Officers responded around 2:10 a.m. to a large fight in the 100 block of North Front Street, where they found two adult men suffering from stab wounds. Both were taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. About two minutes later, officers were called to a second, unrelated fight in the 0 block of North Front Street. At that scene, police found an adult woman with stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say the two incidents are not believed to be connected. Stanley Police responded to a shooting on East Dallas Rd. This incident involved a domestic-related dispute between two family members that escalated into violence. The suspect, Christopher Monique McDowell (DOB 5/18/1994) of Stanley, fired multiple shots at the victim, who is his uncle. The victim was struck and transported to the hospital for medical treatment. He is expected to survive. Officers arrived within seconds, immediately provided medical aid, and took the suspect into custody without further incident. This was an isolated incident stemming from a family dispute. There is no threat to the greater community. The suspect has been apprehended and remains in custody. We are releasing the video in the interest of public safety and to provide accurate information concerning the circumstances involving the shooting. Happened early Sunday morning off Smith Farm Rd. in NW Charlotte. Officer is ok, minor injuries. Tanaezah Michelle Austin. She’s the 25 year old woman who police say sped off and left the scene after hitting the officer. They arrested her today. She is still in jail, for now, being held on a $3,000 secured bond. Neighbors are describing a chaotic and terrifying scene after a Cybertruck crashed into a home and sparked an hours-long police standoff Sunday afternoon in Garner. Gabriele Folker, who lives across the street, said he heard gunshots, loud explosions, and felt his home shake as police surrounded the area, drew weapons, and later called in SWAT teams to secure the scene. “We heard gunshots, loud booms, and then felt the house rumble. We didn’t know where it was coming from or what was happening. We didn’t know if there was a gunfight. We were just we’re fearing the worst, essentially,” he said. Garner Police said it started Sunday afternoon about 3 p.m. on Alta Crest Lane when Nathan Tharp, 42, struck a woman with his Cybertruck and then tried to hit officers while attempting to attack her a second time. “Officers fired their service weapons at the vehicle to stop the assaults, but Tharp was not injured,” police said. “Tharp subsequently drove the vehicle into a nearby residence, causing extensive damage.” Tharp then ran into that home and barricaded himself as a standoff ensued, according to police. He was eventually taken into custody after four hours. Folker said he watched much of the incident unfold from his living room window and through Ring camera footage. He said Tharp crashed through multiple yards, struck the homeowner’s parked car, and became wedged into the front of the house before running inside. “Police had guns drawn. They had a rifle drawn, and they were all aiming at the top floor, and they had a K-9 unit out. Eventually they brought a SWAT unit out. They brought in an armored vehicle with a battering ram. They were able to they use the battering ram and they pushed the Cybertruck out of the way. Then they came back and tore the garage door down,” he said. Folker’s next-door neighbor, who didn’t want to be identified, said Tharp also struck his parked car before crashing into the house. “The driver’s side door completely caved in. Some damage to the passenger door and fender.
